Meet Daniel: Your Candidate for State Representative
Daniel is a part of the vibrant Seattle community, fully embracing our city's unique amenities. He’s a familiar face in the neighborhood parks, an avid recreational soccer player, and a dedicated participant in local cleanups. You can often find him exploring the diverse eateries and local shops that make District 43 so special, and on a hot summer day he’ll be paddleboarding along Portage Bay.
Daniel's understanding of politics is deeply personal. His mother and her family fled Communist Cuba during the Cuban Revolution in the 1950s, bringing with them harrowing stories of oppression, intimidation, suppression of thought and unjust killings. Growing up among the exile community, these stories profoundly shaped his ideological worldview. Daniel is devoted to ensuring that no one suffers in the name of progress, taking an anti-extremist stance that favors pragmatism, collaboration, and effective governance.
Holding a Master’s in Applied American Politics and Policy and a Bachelor’s in Political Science along with extensive experience with state government processes and procedures from his years at a legislative tracking service, Daniel is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of state legislative politics. After years of tracking legislation, he has been working in the experience management field, where he commits to increasing the positive interactions of customers and employees. Working for a survey company, he is finely in tune with the desires and pain points of the average person and seeks out ways to address their concerns at every corner. Daniel proudly identifies as a pragmatic progressive, committed to achieving meaningful and attainable reform.
His diverse range of academic, professional, and personal experiences, combined with his innovative and modern perspectives allow him to connect with people of all backgrounds, build the necessary coalitions, and dive deep into the priorities of his constituents with ease. Daniel is not beholden to ideology or partisanship, but rather a pluralist committed to effective and collaborative governance.
